This is an authentic original LC3 grand confort, custom ordered with white leather option and chromed steel frame with down/feather cushion fill. The texture of the fill lends a gorgeous organic quality to the cushions, highlighting the structure of the sofa and the spectacular crafstmanship of the stainless steel frame. You cannot get more timeless than this. Early in his career, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, also known as Le Corbusier, was met with some resistance to his work. Owing to its alleged "revolutionary" nature and the radical look it acquired from its "purist" form. In time, however, it won the recognition it deserved and is still widely admired. The LC3 features four unconnected cushions, enclosed in a chrome steel tube cage that constitutes the primary support system. The separation of the metal frame and the cushions expresses a rationalist approach to industrial production. The separation between the load-bearing metal structure and the cushions, reminiscent of the architectural relationship between the concrete skeleton and the in-fill paneling, is consistent with the principles of rationalism.
